AD “Strumica Tabak” Strumica is shareholding company which basic activity is production, purchase and processing of raw tobacco in leaf and which is registered under Shareholding Company in private property for production, purchase and processing of tobacco, wholesale and retail, import-export, “Strumica Tabak” Strumica.
Its Address is ul. Vancho Kitanov No.1, Strumica, Republic of Macedonia.
The existing of the company is back to year 1919, when purchase and processing had been organized in Strumica Region.
After liberation in March, 18th, year 1949, the company had been registered for the first time in Ministry for industry in FNRJ ( Federal People Republic of Yugoslavia ) in Belgrade under the name “ Boris Kidrich” Strumica.
In Republic of Macedonia is registered with decision from 11.07.1950 by the Government in Republic of Macedonia.
In the year 1967 the company is merging with “Jugotutun” Skopje and continues to operate as “Jugotutun” Associated Enterprise Skopje, organization in “Boris Kidrich” Strumica itself, until 1996 when leaves “Jugotutun” system.
In the year 1991, AD “Strumica Tabak” Strumica begins its transformation, when transform into Shareholding Company in mixed property and changed its name from “Boris Kidrich” into “Strumica Tabak”.
In the year 1996 transformation process has been finished and majority shareholder become world famous tobacco company Leaf Tobacco A.Michailides S.A. from Thessaloniki,, Greece firstly with purchasing of 17% ideal part from the company and then with purchasing of 50% from the shares of the shareholders of AD “Strumica Tabak” Strumica. Also additional ventures have been made in the amount of 3.000.000,00 DM which had been invested in building of the new processing tobacco factory.
In October, 2000, with purchasing of the majority part from shares, AD “Strumica Tabak” became majority shareholder in AD “Kochani Tabak “ Kochani, and in December, 2002, with decision from Assembly begins the procedure for merging of AD”Kochan Tabak”, Kochani to AD “Strumica Tabak”, Strumica. The Merging is from 23.01.2003.
